Indraneel Chakrabarty, M.D., M.A.

ADVANCED GASTROENTEROLOGY

Medicine is in Dr. Indraneel Chakrabarty’s blood as he has several generations of family members who are physicians in various specialties from his father, paternal and maternal grandfather’s, great grandfather’s, great grandfather’s, various uncles, brother, etc. His father is a gastroenterologist and was a strong influence in his life. He grew up in Hemet and went to Hemet High School. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (BS) in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). He subsequently moved to Boston where he lived for 13 years completing his training for his medical career. He obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). He went on to obtain his Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) from BUSM. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Boston City Hospital and Boston University Hospital. He was a hospitalist at Massachusetts General Hospital and teaching associate at Harvard Medical School where he taught and oversaw residents. He went on to specialize in Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. He was very blessed to be trained by some of the best in the country. However, he loves the area where he grew up and saw the need to return and elevate the care in the region, specifically in Gastroenterology. He moved back to Temecula, CA in 2011 to provide Gastroenterology services, including much needed advanced gastroenterology procedures which nobody else provides in the local region. He became the Director of Gastroenterology at Temecula Valley Hospital in 2013.

Dr. Indraneel Chakrabarty provides not only general gastroenterology services such as endoscopy and colonoscopy but also provides advanced interventional endoscopy expertise from endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). He is highly specialized in procedures to prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat complex conditions such as Barrett’s esophagus, gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, cirrhosis, biliary disease, pancreatic cancer, and other gastrointestinal cancers. His knowledge and skills are highly sought after by the regional hospitals, local referring physicians, and internationally. He was the lead consult for the country of Qatar to setup their now successful national colon cancer screening program from 2013-2016. He created Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group and a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center, First Surgery Center in 2020. Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group and First Surgery Center is Southwest Riverside County’s most advanced Gastroenterology medical center. Its mission is to bring high quality exceptional care without exception to the region. Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group continues to grow with new physicians and services. Recently it has added the services of Integrative Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Bariatrics, General Surgery, Pulmonology, Robotic Pulmonology, and Sleep Medicine. His latest project includes starting up a ACGME certified GI Fellowship program in 2023 at Temecula Valley Hospital and is the program director training the next generation of Gastroenterologists.

On a more personal level, Dr. Chakrabarty’s hobbies include traveling, arts, food, music, and cars (mechanical art). He has traveled all around the world, been to numerous music concerts and festivals and is an art and car collector. He has created several paintings and drawings throughout his life. However, photography has taken a strong interest on his creative side. His office is filled with his museum quality photos from his travels around the world which he shares with his patients.

Angela Saunders, D.O.

GASTROENTEROLOGY

Dr. Angela Saunders is a highly skilled and experienced gastroenterologist located in Temecula, CA. With a specialization in gastroenterology, she is dedicated to providing excellent medical care to her patients. Dr. Saunders obtained her medical degree from the prestigious West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and has since accumulated eight years of practice in the field. Dr. Saunders possesses expertise in a range of gastroenterological procedures, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, esophageal dilation, and enteroscopy. Her extensive experience in these areas ensures that she can accurately diagnose and effectively treat various gastrointestinal conditions. David Lee, M.D., M.B.A., F.C.C.P.

PULMONOLOGY, INTERNAL MEDICINE, SLEEP STUDY, CRITICAL CARE

Introducing Dr. David Lee, a renowned pulmonologist serving Temecula and its neighboring communities. DrLee has recently joined Trinity Medical Multi-Specialty Group, with his main office conveniently located off of Margarita and De Portola. With a medical degree from the prestigious University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine, DrLee completed his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Massachusetts affiliate hospitals, where he also served as Chief Resident. He then pursued a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he held multiple positions, including associate director of the cystic fibrosis program. DrLee‘s expertise spans across inpatient and outpatient clinical duties in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. He is a core faculty member in the Internal Medicine Department, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship, and Sleep Medicine fellowship. DrLee‘s passion for cystic fibrosis is reflected in his role as the Center Director of the UCSF Fresno Cystic Fibrosis Program for both adult and pediatric care programs, which have obtained national accreditation from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Expect nothing short of exceptional care from Dr. David Lee.

Emanuel Shapera, M.D.

ADVANCED GI ROBOTIC SURGEON, HEPATOBILIARY SURGICAL ONCOLOGY

Dr. Shapera brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our practice, making him a valuable asset to our team. His extensive training in weight loss and foregut surgery, as well as his specialization in minimally invasive hepatopancreatobiliary and surgical oncology, allows him to provide exceptional care to our patients. Additionally, his completion of a Bariatric Fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia and training at Advent Health Tampa for Robotic Surgical Oncology further solidify his qualifications. One notable aspect of Dr. Shapera’s career is his dedication to research and education. He has demonstrated his commitment to advancing surgical knowledge and techniques through the production and publication of multiple surgical videos and papers. His involvement in various prestigious surgical conferences, including the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA), the European-African Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (E-AHPBA), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and more, showcases his recognition within the surgical community as a leading expert. Furthermore, Dr. Shapera’s fluency in Aramaic is an additional asset to our practice, as it allows for effective communication and understanding with patients who are more comfortable speaking in this language. Teresa Geisinger, FNP-C

Teresa Geisinger is a highly qualified and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in various clinical settings. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Graceland University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with a minor in Human Development from the University of Missouri. She possesses a range of clinical skills, including biopsies, IV placement, cryotherapy, and wound management, among others. Geisinger’s professional experience includes working as a Nurse Practitioner at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in the Transplant and Transplant Surgery Department. UCSD provided Geisinger the opportunity to  collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams  to deliver in-patient and out-patient care to pre & post-operative abdominal transplant & Hepatobiliary patients. Teresa is known for her exceptional bedside manner and ability to educate patients on their disease processes and treatment plans.

 

Shannon Lira, MSN-FNP

Shannon Lira, RN, MSN-FNP, is a highly motivated and excellently trained new graduate family nurse practitioner residing in Temecula, California. With extensive nursing experience in the outpatient clinic and emergency department settings, Shannon is a professional who emphasizes the combination of clinical competence and exceptional customer service to deliver exceptional clinical experiences and outcomes for patients. Shannon is eager to embrace new challenges and exceed expectations of patients and physicians alike. Shannon holds a Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner from Azusa Pacific University in San Diego, where she was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate.

Sandra Hlavac, FNP-C

Sandra Hlavac is a highly experienced and skilled staff nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner. Hlavac joined Trinity in late 2023 and is a wealth of knowledge for both our staff and patients. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Hlavac was employed by Temecula Valley Day Surgery in Murrieta, CA from January 2023. She specialized in operating room/circulating nursing and has previously worked as a staff nurse/circulator at Temecula Valley Hospital in Temecula, CA from April 2022 to December 2022. Sandra also served as the Center Leader at Parkway Endoscopy Center in Escondido, CA from December 2011 to April 2022, where she successfully managed a busy outpatient endoscopy center, increased profit year after year, and supervised a team of 25 staff members, 4 physician partners, and 10 CRNAs. Prior to that, she worked as a staff nurse at Endoscopy Center of the Inland Empire in Murrieta, CA from December 2006 to December 2011, where she specialized in administering conscious sedation for endoscopy procedures, handling pre-operative admission intake, recovery of post-sedation procedures, and providing patient education through pre- and post-phone calls.
